Arsenal<\/a> defender Bacary Sagna<\/a> has conceded he and his team-mates have been \u201ctoo nice\u201d to end the club\u2019s trophy drought this season.<\/p>\n

Arsene Wenger\u2019s side were defeated comprehensively by FA Cup finalists Stoke on Sunday, and that result, coupled with Manchester United\u2019s victory over Chelsea at Old Trafford, means the north Londoners are now officially out of the Premier League title race.<\/p>\n

Having lost to Birmingham in the League Cup final and tasted defeat to Manchester United and Barcelona in the FA Cup and Champions League respectively, Arsenal have now gone six seasons without silverware, and Sagna believes a lack of fight is to blame.<\/p>\n

“We are too nice. We have to fight a bit more. We have to push them as much as they push us and be a bit more killer,” the 28-year-old told Arsenal TV Online<\/em>.<\/p>\n

“We are not defending as well as we have to and against big players like Stoke have, it is very difficult.<\/p>\n

“We have to put in performances week after week and fight even more.<\/p>\n

“We didn’t give enough. We didn’t play as we can and that is what happens when you don’t give the maximum – you get beaten everywhere.”<\/p>\n

The lack of a winning mentality in the Arsenal camp has prompted many observers to call for manager Arsene Wenger to bring in some experienced players in the summer, but Sagna believes the current Gunners crop is capable of getting the job done, provided they change their mindset.<\/p>\n

“It can be put right on the training ground because it is in our mind,” the France international added.<\/p>\n
