AWKA- AFTER decades of dry taps, there are indications that water would start flowing again in Anambra State as the state government\u2019s N3.5 billion investment in the sector, with the assistance of the international donor agencies, has put most of the abandoned water schemes back on stream.<\/p>\n

Commissioner for Water Resources and Public Utilities, Mr. Emeka Nwankwu, said during a tour of water facilities in parts of the state, weekend, that the projects would be completed in June this year.<\/p>\n

Among water schemes that would be ready by June are the Awka water scheme, with facilities at the commissioners\u2019 quarters and Aroma junction; the Udoka Housing estate project also in Awka; the Nibo water scheme, and Nimo water scheme, that would supply water to Nimo.<\/p>\n

Others are Enugwu Ukwu and Abagana, the Awkuzu water scheme, Ifite Dunu scheme and the Agulu water scheme that would supply water to Agulu and other neighbouring communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
