\nPresident Goodluck Jonathan has written to the Nasarawa State governor-elect, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura, congratulating him over his victory at just held governorship poll.<\/p>\n

Almakura defeated the Governor Aliyu Akwe Doma of the PDP in the election. Doma is yet to congratulate Al-Makura.<\/p>\n

The president\u2019s congratulation came to Al-Makura in a letter dated April 30. Jonathan described Al-makura\u2019s election as a \u201creflection of the confidence which the people of Nasarawa State have in your leadership\u201d, adding, \u201cit should be seen as a call to service and an opportunity for moral introspection, spiritual re-generation and a resolve to chart a glorious future for the people of Nasarawa State.\u201d<\/p>\n

The president gave indication that he will work with Al-Makura, saying he is confident that doing so will add value to his drive to transform the nation.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe can successfully drive our nation\u2019s transformation over the next four years\u201d, the letter said, assuring the governor-elect of the federal government\u2019s \u201cunstinting support as we jointly work to reposition Nigeria for her God-ordained greatness.\u201d<\/p>\n
