Blige<\/strong> is taking acting lessons&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Over the weekend, <em>Jumping The Broom<\/em>\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.deadline.com\/2011\/05\/thor-divines-3-25-million-in-midnight-b-o\/\">surpassed Sony&#8217;s projections<\/a> and made $16M at the box office, making it the third most popular film nationwide. Blige<\/strong> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eurweb.com\/?p=103226\">confirmed<\/a> that after many delays, she&#8217;s set to star in a <strong>Nina Simone<\/strong> biopic which begins shooting in the fall. \u00a0She recently told <em>BET.com<\/em>,\u00a0<em>\u201cI\u2019m definitely still doing it and I\u2019m in acting classes for it now. We start shooting at the end of the month!\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Written by <strong>Cynthia Mor<\/strong>t, the film will focus on Nina&#8217;s relationship with her assistant <strong>Clifton Henderson<\/strong>. \u00a0Also, Mary will star in\u00a0<em>Rock of Ages<\/em> with T<strong>om Cruise<\/strong> and <strong>Alec Baldwin<\/strong>. \u00a0When describing her role she said, \u00a0<em>\u201cI\u2019m playing Justice Charlier, a gentleman\u2019s club owner. I\u2019m having so much fun preparing for it, and I know Tom. I love Tom.
