\"\"<\/a>Alhaji Omar Bodinga, Eastern Regional First Vice-Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has noted that, the success of the just ended Parliamentary Primaries was a sign of victory for the party, come 2012.<\/p>\n

He said considering the way the primaries were conducted in all the constituencies across the country and the prevailing peace within the party, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, the party\u2019s presidential candidate, would emerge President in 2012 to bring good governance to Ghanaians.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Koforidua, on Friday, Alhaji Bodinga commended all the delegates, aspirants, the Electoral Commission, the security agencies and the entire party membership for the mature manner they conducted themselves before, during and after the primaries in the region.<\/p>\n

He said four incumbent Members of Parliament lost the primaries, which included Professor Samuel Amoako of Abuakwa North, Mr Ampomah Bosompem, Akyem Swedru, Madam Beatrice Bernice Boateng, New Juaben South and Mr Asiamah Amankwah, Fanteakwa.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Bodinga said only three women, out of seven who contested the primaries won.<\/p>\n

They included Ms Gifty Klenam of Lower West Akyem, Madam Esther Obeng Dapaah, New Abirem and Madam Dedo Dufie Agyarko of Lower Manya Krobo, who was the party\u2019s parliamentary candidate for the 2004 election but failed to win the seat.<\/p>\n

He observed that the NPP lost the 2008 election due to internal wrangling, which started from the National Congress to the constituency elections, adding that, now that the party was enjoying peace, nothing would stop them from taking power from the ruling National Democratic Congress.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Bodinga appealed to all those who lost not to be demoralized but rather rally behind the winning candidates and campaign vigorously for the party to win next year\u2019s general elections.<\/p>\n

He said so far the party had not received any petition from anybody after the contest, adding that, it was a clear indication that all the contestants were satisfied with the outcome of the elections and hoped that it would remain so.<\/p>\n

Alhaji Bodinga assured that the regional secretariat was putting in place mechanisms, to ensure that all the NPP Parliamentary seats were retained and new ones won.<\/p>\n

He lauded the current system of selecting the parliamentary candidates and described it as the best and urged other political parties to emulate it.
