Abuja \u2013 Parents in Kano State have expressed concern over the involvement of youths in the recent post-election violence, describing the development as a \u201cbad omen for the country\u201d.<\/p>\n

Some of the parents who spoke to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday in Kano, condemned the conduct of youths formenting violence after the presidential elections.<\/p>\n

Abubukar Sadiq, a parent, lamented that \u201cmost of the youths are not gainfully employed, while some of them are unemployable others are also not well educated\u201d.<\/p>\n

Sadiq appealed to the incoming government to engage youths in meaningful ventures that would keep them busy.<\/p>\n

Another parent, Saliu Manu, also expressed dismay over the \u201cunfortunate incidents\u201d that occurred in some parts of the country where he said, children of school age took part in\u00a0 violence.<\/p>\n

Maimuna Aliko, a house wife, appealed to the State Government to intervene and salvage the situation \u201cas a matter of urgency before the situation gets out of hand\u201d.<\/p>\n

Aliko advised parents in the state to set good standards that their children could emulate and ensure that their children were law-abiding at all times. (NAN)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
