Emma Bunton is celebrating following the birth of her second son this morning.<\/p>\n

The former Spice Girl, 35, gave birth to a ‘beautiful’ baby boy name Tate, she announced on her Twitter page.<\/p>\n

She Tweeted today: ‘Our beautiful son Tate has arrived safe and sound! We are all so happy and excited. Thanks and love to you all. Xx.’<\/p>\n

A statement read: ‘Emma Bunton and Jade Jones are delighted to announce the birth of their second child, a baby boy called Tate.<\/p>\n

‘He was born on 6 May 2011 and weighed in at 7lbs.<\/p>\n

‘Both mother and baby are doing well and the family are over the moon and would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes and support.’<\/p>\n

Among the first to congratulate the new mother was TV presenter friend Myleene Klass, who Tweeted: ‘Huge congrats to you and your family. Little Tate is finally here!’<\/p>\n

Dannii Minogue wrote on her Twitter: ‘Congratulations from me and (designer friend) Tabitha Webb. We are so happy for you. Well done mummy!!!!! Love the name Tate.’<\/p>\n

Former bandmate Melanie Brown gushed: ‘Congrats my love to your beautiful family, welcome baby Tate!!’<\/p>\n

After originally announcing her pregnancy in November, the Dancing On Ice judge revealed in February she was expecting another boy with long-term partner Jade Jones.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

WHAT’S IN A NAME?<\/span>

Tate is a traditional Middle English name, which is more commonly found as a surname.<\/p>\n

The name means ‘to be cheerful’.<\/p>\n

Famous people with the name include The O.C. actor and Jennifer Aniston’s ex-boyfriend Tate Donovan and American basketball players Tate Armstrong and Tate George<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

And in January, the ex-Damage singer and long-term love Jones, 32, revealed they were engaged after 11 years together.<\/p>\n

After Dancing On Ice came to an end in March, Bunton has been taking it easy the past few weeks.<\/p>\n

Harriet Scott, who recently announced she is pregnant with her second child, is covering Bunton’s Saturday afternoon radio show on Heart FM while the singer is on maternity leave.<\/p>\n

The last few weeks the star admitted on Twitter she had been struggling to sleep – presumably because baby Tate was very active.<\/p>\n

Two of Bunton’s former Spice Girls bandmates are currently pregnant – Victoria Beckham is due to give birth to a baby girl in July, while Mel B is expecting around the same time.<\/p>\n

Bunton has previously spoken of her fears she would never conceive after being diagnosed with endometriosis when she was 25.<\/p>\n

She said while pregnant with Beau: ‘I remember the doctor saying at the time, “Fifty per cent of women with endometriosis go on to have children.” I thought, “Only 50 per cent…” It scared the life out of me. I was frightened.<\/p>\n

‘I’ve been so worried for such a long time that I might not be able to be a mum.’<\/p>\n
