THE NEW Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta region is optimistic of changing the voting pattern in the region to facilitate a one touch victory for it in the 2012 general elections.<\/p>\n
This was the pronouncement of the party\u2019s parliamentary aspirant for Ho East constituency, David Dickson Dzokpe.<\/p>\n
Mr. Dzokpe disclosed this to DAILY GUIDE at Adaklu-Waya after being acclaimed the parliamentary aspirant by a unanimous endorsement from 284 delegates.<\/p>\n
The 63 year old accountant disclosed that he has already prepared a performance strategy for the polling station executives and coordinators that will be with the party\u2019s strategy to guide the party to victory in the constituency, come 2012.<\/p>\n
The NPP Ho East Constituency Chairman, Evans Anyadi noted that the constituency together with the polling station executives have put some strategic measures in place to win over swinging and floating voters in the area.<\/p>\n
He cited use of the NPP\u2019s \u201cCare and Share Foundation\u201d to reach out to the needy, lonely and other vulnerable members of communities within the constituency.<\/p>\n
He further encouraged party members to establish good relationships with their neighbours and opponents to disarm people who have bad perceptions about the NPP and its flag bearer, Nana Akufo-Addo.<\/p>\n
He reminded delegates that the power given to them to be become part of the decision making body of the party is a sign that the party cares about their views and has so much respect for party members at the grassroots level.<\/p>\n
Mr. Evans Anyadi added that delegates and party members in the constituency must reciprocate that gesture by vigilantly ensuring a rig-free general election and vigorously campaign for Nana Addo.<\/p>\n
The NPP expects to raise its tally from zero votes to at least five or multiples of five votes at polling stations in the region in 2012.<\/p>\n
Mr Anyadi said with the expansion of the number of polling station delegates at the constituency primaries to five, the party was in a better position to properly assess the sincerity and commitment of its polling station executives to its cause.<\/p>\n
He said votes less than five would therefore be an indication that the ranks of its polling station executives had been infiltrated by opponents.<\/p>\n
Mr Anyadi warned that the party leadership would not hesitate to crack the whip on those who would sacrifice it votes.<\/p>\n
He said the NPP was being scientific in its approach towards the preparation, prosecution, campaign and expectations of the 2012 elections.<\/p>\n
Mr Anyadi said the Ho-East constituency is reckoned to have 35,000 floating voters and 4,020 swinging votes.<\/p>\n
He told the polling station executives that having been given the power \u201cto make and unmake chosen leaders in the party\u201d and to participate \u201cfully in decision making,\u201d they must equally be at the forefront of a vigorous campaign for those they have chosen as candidates.<\/p>\n
Mr Dzorkpe urged the delegates and party activists in the constituency to brace themselves for an uncompromising campaign and protection of the party\u2019s votes in the constituency in 2012.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
