The Labour Party, LP, in Bayelsa State, yesterday, reiterated its preparedness to engage the services of foreign forensic experts to substantiate the petitions filed by its candidates before the Election Petition Tribunal sitting in state on cases of alleged fraud in the state and National Assembly polls held in the state.<\/p>\n

Though the party candidate for Yenagoa-Kolokuma-Opokuma Federal constituency, Mr Udengs Eradiri and the state reinstated deputy governor, who was the party candidate for Bayelsa West Senatorial district, Chief Peremobowei Ebebi, had already filed their seperate petition before the tribunal, the party also declared its readiness to contest the results of nine House of Assembly seats in the state.<\/p>\n

The party, it was learnt, is also planning to approach the Federal High Court sitting in the state capital, to compel the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,\u00a0 to arrest and prosecute those identified on video and documented evidence, said to have perpetuate electoral fraud during the just concluded elections in the state.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that the leadership of the party led by Chief Bobo Atari-Adou and the candidates recently met to brainstorm on the strategies to adopt in reclaiming what they described as their stolen mandates.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, said to have lasted several hours, the party it was learnt settled for nine constituencies, where there were documented and visual evidence against some hired thugs and leaders of the ruling party, allegedly involved in multiple thumb printing, violence, ballot boxes and papers hijack and attack on opposition agents.<\/p>\n

Labour Party chairman, Chief Atari-Adou, who confirmed the development said the decision of the party was based on the need to get justice and ensure that the votes of the people to counted.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
