Manchester City<\/a> are considering whether to make an offer for Shakhtar Donetsk<\/a> midfielder Douglas Costa<\/a>, according to the player\u2019s agent.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Brazilian has been linked with a move to the Premier League with Manchester United and Chelsea, but now City have appeared to enter the race to sign the talented 20-year-old.<\/span><\/p>\n

Agent Cesar Bottega also stated Serie A side Napoli are in the running, so Roberto Mancini will face competition for the highly rated midfielder.<\/span><\/p>\n

Bottega told notiziariosportivo.com<\/em>: “I have spoken a few times with Manchester City.<\/span><\/p>\n

“They have shown interest in the player and are now considering whether to enter into a negotiation or not.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I am planning a trip to Europe in a fortnight, but if something were to change I’m ready to leave earlier.”<\/span><\/p>\n

As regards interest from Italy, he added: “Napoli have followed the player’s performance in the Champions League, then I don’t know if there were concrete contacts, I have not been contacted.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Logically, they will first, in any case, contact the company.”<\/span><\/p>\n

City currently lie in fourth place in the Premier League after a 2-1 victory over West Ham United last week as they hope to secure the final Champions League spot.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
