{"id":417588,"date":"2011-05-04T20:23:36","date_gmt":"2011-05-04T20:23:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/05\/04\/acn-denies-alleged-plan-to-join-dpp-lp-to-challenge-uduaghan%e2%80%99s-election\/"},"modified":"2011-05-04T20:23:36","modified_gmt":"2011-05-04T20:23:36","slug":"acn-denies-alleged-plan-to-join-dpp-lp-to-challenge-uduaghans-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/05\/04\/acn-denies-alleged-plan-to-join-dpp-lp-to-challenge-uduaghans-election\/","title":{"rendered":"ACN denies alleged plan to join DPP, LP to challenge Uduaghan\u2019s election"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"64\">\n<p><strong>BY FESTUS AHON<\/strong><br \/>DELTA State Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, Chief Adolo Okotie-Eboh, Wednesday, denied media reports that the party plans to join the Democratic Peoples Party, DPP and Labour Party, LP, to challenge the outcome of the gubernatorial election in the state in court.<\/p>\n<p>Okotie-Eboh in a statement said, \u201cthe attention of the leadership of the\u00a0 ACN, Delta State, has been drawn to reports in the\u00a0 media to the effect that ACN in conjunction with DPP and LP would head to court to challenge the results of the April 26, 2011 gubernatorial election.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cACN is of the view that the said election while not perfect, Deltans should be allowed to unite and develop the state through dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUnless credible and verifiable evidence of fraud is available to us, it is our position that electoral litigation is unnecessary.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWithout prejudice to the above statement, we have asked our candidates in both National and State Assembly elections, who have credible evidence to proceed to the tribunal. Delta State must be allowed to heal and develop,\u201d\u00a0 he added.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>Comments are moderated.
