American hiphop heavyweight, Trevor Tahiem Smith, Jr., widely known in music as Busta Rhymes has said the beats and rhythms of African music has since time immemorial set the tone for world music.<\/p>\n
The star who recently rocked the opening show of the sixth season of the Big Brother Africa reality show – Big Brother Amplified – disclosed in an interview with Big Brother Africa journalists that the authenticity of Africa\u2019s music sets it apart from the rest of the world.<\/p>\n
He stated that, \u201cI personally think that, what sets African music apart from the rest of the world is just the authenticity of the rhythm, the vibe and the energy and the overall spirit of the music.\u201d<\/p>\n
The rapper, songwriter, producer and actor added that, \u201cI think that at the end of the day, the beat and the rhythm of African music I think pretty much sets the tone of all music and that what its been since the beginning of time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Aspire for greatness<\/p>\n
Busta Rhymes, who started doing music at the age of 16 and shot into fame with his 1996 solo hit Woo Hah!! Got You All in Check from his platinum record album The Coming, said he has always aspired to be great \u2013 a key to what he is today.<\/p>\n
\u201cGreatness, that\u2019s one thing I always aspire to accomplish in the current day and the future\u2026 just accomplishing every level of greatness that I can possibly acquire and accomplishing,\u201d he revealed.<\/p>\n
BusaBusss, as he is sometimes known, affirmed that, \u201cI just want to always maximise every opportunity\u2026 maximise every situation,\u201d in life.<\/p>\n
The Flipmode general has several albums to his credit; The Coming (2006), When Disaster Strikes (2007), Extinction Level Event (Final World Front) (2008), Anarchy & Genesis (2000), It Aint Safe No More (2002),The Big Bang (2006) and Back on My B.S. (2009).<\/p>\n
Busta Rhymes disclosed that he is looking forward to his new album which he said will be released around August 2011.<\/p>\n
