This was the tearful moment that Toni Braxton gathered her family together on her reality TV show to tell them she has lupus.<\/p>\n

The Unbreak My Heart singer, 43, reveals her illness in the latest episode of her show, Braxton Family Values, which was filmed last year.<\/p>\n

But the news proved too much for her youngest sister Tamar, who broke down in tears when hearing Toni speak of her chronic autoimmune disorder.<\/p>\n

In the same episode, Toni also speaks at a Lupus Los Angeles Luncheon to raise awareness for the illness.<\/p>\n

The episode will be broadcast in May, which coincides with Lupus Awareness Month, and also showed Braxton accepting an award at the Lupus LA Ball for her work in bringing awareness to the disease.<\/p>\n

The star is also filmed with her doctors while discussing the disease, which can affect many different body systems, including joints, skin, kidneys, blood cells, the heart and lungs.<\/p>\n

Toni\u2019s show premiered last month and features her sisters Traci, Tamar, Towanda and Trina jostle for a slice of her limelight.<\/p>\n

And the R&B star said last week that her show has been like a \u2018therapy session\u2019 for her.<\/p>\n

\u2018I have to look as this show as a therapy session for me\u2019, Toni told Jet magazine, as she revealed it was her sister Tamar\u2019s idea to do the show.<\/p>\n

\u2018Tamar said, \u2018You have to do it. You should tell your side of the story.\u2019 And I think that all the things I\u2019ve gone through, I wanted people to know you\u2019re not alone. I\u2019m right here with you.\u2019<\/p>\n

Speaking about the show, the Grammy Award winner, who has filed for bankruptcy twice, said: \u2018I also think you will identify with every sister.<\/p>\n

\u2018I think you\u2019ll see beyond the fussing and fighting and find our relationships and our lives compelling.\u2019<\/p>\n

The five sisters began performing as The Braxtons in the late 1980s before Toni went on to become a successful solo artist in the 90s.<\/p>\n

Braxton revealed last November on CBS news in the US that she suffers from systemic lupus erythematosus.<\/p>\n

Her brother also suffers from the disease and her uncle died of complications from lupus.<\/p>\n
