Ace musician and King of Burger Highlife Nana Ampem Darko, known in showbiz circles as George Darko, will today, Friday April 28 mark his 60th birthday with the launch of his very latest \u2018Lucky Star\u2019 album at the Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.<\/p>\n

The album launch, according to his handlers, Mirror Image Promotions, is expected to bring together a host of other legendary highlife musicians.<\/p>\n

The King of Burger highlife will perform some of his tunes as well as a selection of tracks off the \u2018Lucky Star\u2019 album which is currently receiving heavy rotations on urban radio.<\/p>\n

Mirror Image Promotions is optimistic that his album launch would prove why George Darko was still a force to reckon with in the industry.<\/p>\n

In a related development, a combination of old and fairly-young highlife musicians including Charles Amoah, Nana Fynn, Felix Owusu, Pat Thomas, AB Crenstle, Bessa Simmons, Kwabena Kwabena, Kwame Zaggy, Efya, and new sensation SOGO have been confirmed for the concert.<\/p>\n

The Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra will be the centre of attraction as the over dozen artistes show up in solidarity with one of their very own.<\/p>\n

George\u2019s manager, Kaicy Boakye Nhyira, said: \u201cToday will present us with yet another opportunity to treat the highlife loving community to good highlife songs. George is well prepared for this show and he has promised to deliver to the satisfaction of all\u201d.<\/p>\n
