Ghana’s hiphop artist goes global with another international award. Be Black has been nominated for Global Music Video awards (USA) under ‘Best Foreign Entry’ category with his video ‘REVOLUTION (It’s a Ghetto)’ which will be held May 5 & 6 at THE MEADOWS, Hellertown, PA USA.<\/p>\n

This marks him not only as a singer but also an activist. The song addresses socio-politic issues thus corruption, malaria, HIV\/AIDS, women abuse etc.<\/p>\n

With his movement in activism he has also been invited to participate in conference “LGBT\/Queer Studies: Toward Trans\/national Scholarly and Activist Kinships” that we will be held in Madrid, Spain from July 3-5, 2011.<\/p>\n

It will involve scholars and activists to join in an exploration of the methods, possibilities, challenges and dangers of doing LGBT\/queer scholarship, activism, pedagogy and curriculum in a transnationalized\/technologically mediated world.<\/p>\n

REVOLUTION (It’s a Ghetto) caught the ears of Damitow Records and it was selected on the yearly compilation titled “A Charity Record” where proceeds are donated to RAINN Organization in support of women globally.<\/p>\n
