Silvio Berlusconi has promised a summer of spending to turn his AC Milan side into Champions League winners – and Tottenham\u2019s Gareth Bale is on the Italians’ hit list.<\/p>\n
The Rossoneri, who were knocked out in the second round by Tottenham in March, need just a point from their final three Serie A games to reclaim the title.<\/p>\n
Berlusconi, who owns the club and is also Italian PM, said signing Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi was impossible because \u201cthe Spanish game is rich and has different tax laws\u201d.<\/p>\n
Hosever, he insisted Milan will sign some of the biggest names in world football.<\/p>\n
Bale has been a target of both Milan and city rivals Inter since his sensational performances in the Champions League this season.<\/p>\n
Berlusconi said: \u201cMy family has invested an average of \u20ac50m \u00a345m a season in Milan,\u201d he said. \u201cThat figure was \u20ac70m last year and I promise to continue with my costly habit of giving gifts to the Milan fans.\u201d<\/p>\n
Club vice-president Adriano Galliani added: \u201cWe want to get back to winning ways in Europe. After winning the championship, we will then try to do the same in the Champions League.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt went badly for us against Tottenham this season. Let\u2019s hope we have fewer injury problems next term.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
