When he arrived for a Only Way Is Essex glamping session in bright orange Ugg boots, girlfriend Sam Faiers was quick to ban him from ever wearing the fluroescent shoes again.<\/p>\n

However, Joey Essex yesterday proved who wears the trousers in their relationship as he defied Sam’s ban and stepped out proudly showing off his favourite footwear in Brentwood.<\/p>\n

And Joey went all out with his 80s-inspired look in a tight white Hollister T-shirt and matching navy jogging bottoms.<\/p>\n

\"Who<\/p>\n

Who wears the trousers? Joey Essex does, as he proved as he defied girlfriend Sam Faiers’ ban on his orange Ugg boots out in Brentwood, Essex, yesterday<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The 20-year-old teamed his look with a pair of huge sunglasses and his favourite mode of transport – his white Smart car.<\/p>\n

Girlfriend Sam grinned and beared it as she strolled along hand-in-hand with Joey, doing her best to ignore his questionable fashion sense.<\/p>\n

Joey tweeted an explanation for his outfit this morning when he wrote on his Twitter page: ‘Sam let me wear my orange ugg boots because I forgot my trainers peeps!!! So comfterble (sic) mannnnn… Who wants orange ugg’s?’<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Sam epitomised summer style in a long floral maxi dress and whippet thin belt which highlighted her tiny waist, accessorised with a pair of flip flops.<\/p>\n

After a brief stop at Sam’s Brentwood boutique, Joey headed off to Stansted for a flight to Scotland ahead of a personal appearance last night.<\/p>\n

Heading back today, Joey posted a picture of himself on the plane on his Twitter page, with the caption: ‘Just landed and my back is killing me. Slept the hole (sic) way home on the plane…’<\/p>\n

Sam and Joey started dating earlier this year and their relationship has so far been documented on the second series of the ITV2 show.<\/p>\n

And while the pair looked more than a little loved-up as they sneaked in a kiss as they walked along, things haven’t always gone as smoothly for the couple.<\/p>\n

On their first date, Joey decided to take Sam on a little adventure, treating her to a tour of his favourite childhood haunts – including the local dump.<\/p>\n

Out on the town: Mark Wright and James ‘Arg’ Argent were seen at London’s Mayfair Hotel last night<\/p>\n

But Sam decided to put the unusual first date behind her and give Joey another chance, bestowing upon him the greatest honour when she took him as her date to ex-boyfriend Mark Wright’s engagement party to Lauren Goodger.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen how the pair’s relationship will continue, however, as Sunday’s episode saw the couple’s first argument after Sam refused to let Joey go with her to Marbella, insisting she wanted to go with her girlfriends.<\/p>\n

The season finale of The Only Way Is Essex is on ITV2 tonight at 10pm.<\/span><\/div>\n
