KANO-Residents of Kano have resorted to fervent prayers for frequent rainfall owing to the intense heat that has enveloped the metropolis, due to lack of constant rainfall in the state.<\/p>\n

Most of the inhabitants of the city have not been sleeping well at night for more than a week now because of heat occasioned by harsh weather.<\/p>\n

There was, however, some relief last week when it rained once, but the respite was temporary with the heat coming back in greater intensity.<\/p>\n

\u00a0A resident, Malam Musa Tasi\u2019u, said the hot weather had made life miserable for him. \u201cThis is because I sweat all night and I do not sleep well.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cI pray that the rains resume fully so that we have relief from this very unfriendly weather, which is disturbing me and my family,\u201d Tasi\u2019u said.<\/p>\n

\u00a0Another resident, Hafsatu Abubakar, also expressed concern about the scorching heat, saying that the situation was taking its toll on her children.<\/p>\n

She said,\u201cmy children cry all night because of this heat, and our plight is worsened by power outages. Only sustained rainfall can save us from this harsh weather.\u201d Local weather forecast puts the temperature in the city at between 40 and 41 degrees Celsius.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
