FORMER Managing Director of Intercontinental Bank, Plc, Dr Erastuas Akingbola, and three other former bank executives have been arrested and detained in Lagos by the Economc and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC,\u00a0 over fresh allegations bordering on money laundering charges.<\/p>\n

The other former bank executives are Messrs Okey Nwosu of Finbank, Sebastine Adigwe of Afribank and Francis Atuche Francis of Bank PHB.<\/p>\n

The former bank chiefs who are currently on bail over similar charge were said to have reported at the EFCC office yesterday as part of their earlier bail conditions granted by the court when they were detained by the commission\u2019s operatives ostensibly on fresh charges.<\/p>\n

The detainees are, however, arguing that their detention was in violation of their bail conditions since they have not been served with the new charges.<\/p>\n

It was reliably gathered that the former bank chiefs are to be taken before a Lagos State high court today to answer the fresh charges against them.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Counsel to Akingbola issued a statement on his behalf yesterday, stating that the anti-graft body is frustrating his efforts to put a strong defence against the charges brought against him.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
