Garbaharey \u2014 Heavy clash between Somali government forces and Al shabaab fighters erupted in parts of Gedo region in southern Somalia, officials said on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The fighting broke out a village of Burgadud about 15 kilometers west of Garbaharey after a large number of Somali forces launched premeditated attacks on Al shabaab fighters just outside of the town.<\/p>\n

Abdirashid Mohammed Hidig, Somalia’s deputy minister of defense claimed great victories in the fighting.<\/p>\n

Mr. Hidig noted that they had inflicted irretrievable losses on their political antagonists, saying they had confiscated the areas rocked by the confrontations.<\/p>\n

Sources told Shabelle that at least 6 wounded government soldiers were picked up to a medical facility in Garbaharey town.<\/p>\n

However, Al shabaab has not comments on the government claims and the clash with TFG troops in southern Somalia so far.<\/p>\n
