President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf as you are aware, is now in Lofa County, in continuation of her county tours, which have already taken her to Grand Cape Mount, Maryland, Grand Kru, River-gee and Bong and Grand Bassa County.<\/p>\n

A major highlight of the President’s visit to Lofa was the re-burial on Saturday, April 30, of the founding father of the Unity Party, Dr. Edward Binyah Kesselly at his home village of Nyaama Kamadu, Quardu Gboni District in Lofa County where he was laid to rest.<\/p>\n

In remarks, the President recalled the constructive role Dr. Kesselly played toward the promotion of democracy in Liberia, and noted that he was one of those who contributed toward the democracy Liberia is witnessing today.<\/p>\n

Dr. Kesselly, the President said, helped to challenge the status quo and the shortcomings within society, some of which, she said still exist today.<\/p>\n

The President urged Liberians to continue to sustain the legacy of the late Kesselly by continuing to resist the evils Dr. Kesselly spoke of.<\/p>\n

The President praised the people of Lofa for the show of solidarity demonstrated through the massive turnout at the occasion. The turnout, the President said was indicative of the positive impact the life of the founding father of the Unity Party has had on those who came to know him. She urged the people of Lofa and Liberians in general to emulate his life.<\/p>\n

The President has been inspecting and dedicating a number of projects in Voinjama, Kolahun and Foya. The Projects included schools and ongoing projects for the for the July 26 celebrations in Lofa.<\/p>\n
