THE revelations coming from experts and investors about the potential of some not-so-traditional sectors of the Zambian economy is heartening.<\/p>\n

For instance, the disclosure that the leather industry alone is capable of raking in $1.5 billion in five years while the organic groundnuts can earn the country about $1.3 billion per year gives a lot of hope for the prospects of this country. Zambia is destined for development!<\/p>\n

Tourism has potential<\/p>\n

THE visit by former Indonesia First Lady, Dewi Soekarno and 13 other people from Japan to Zambia to saviour the country’s tourism products, including the famous Victoria Falls is yet another testimony of what can be achieved from this sector.<\/p>\n

What is needed is to first continue investing massively in the marketing of the tourist attractions in the country, with splendid strategies to reach out to the would-be tourists from far and near.<\/p>\n

Then the foreign exchange, in various forms, will be guaranteed. There is definitely massive potential in the tourism sector.<\/p>\n
