‘Thor’ actor Chris Hemsworth is wanted by Universal to take on the leading male part in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ opposite Kristen Stewart.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chris Hemsworth is favourite to take a leading role in ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The ‘Thor’ actor is wanted by studio Universal for the Huntsman in the movie opposite ‘Twilight’ star Kristen Stewart, who is set to star as the leading fairytale character.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The role was originally intended to be played by an older star – with both Hugh Jackman and Viggo Mortensen in the frame for the part – and it is thought the cast of 27-year-old Chris could lead to a change in the script into more of a romantic role.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Charlize Theron is signed up to play the evil queen, who orders the hunter to kill Snow White before he turns on her and aides the beauty to escape.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

However, shooting schedules may stop him from being able to take on the part because of commitments to ‘The Avengers’ this summer.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The film – being directed by Rupert Sanders – is expected to start production in autumn, ahead of a December 2012 release date.<\/span><\/p>\n
