The media men present, deceased victims, the general public, colleague members, ladies and gentlemen. It is indeed an honor to stand before each and every individual present here to deliver a press on the issues pertaining to the victims of an accident event in the 208 general election during the current vice president\u2019s visit to Tamale.<\/p>\n
This said event happened during the campaign period of 2008 general election. Two lives were lost in that event and others sustained various degrees of injuries ranging so many surgery demanding injuries to amputation of legs. Members among us who were students had to defer their studies due to unfortunate incident.<\/p>\n
We were given various promises relating to medication, job opportunities financial assistance by the current vice president, Tamale south MP and minister for communication, the former NDC regional chairman may his soul rest in perfect peace and other party executives.<\/p>\n
These promises were only a lips service since none of the above mentioned promise were benefited by the victims. Several attempts were made by us to reach the above mentioned superior for these promises which all proved futile.<\/p>\n
Several calls were made to the MP of the constituency, Honorable Haruna Iddrisu which he never picked or reply. We paid a visit to the Tamale south constituency chairman to express our grievances and we were told by him that he does not offer jobs in his house there by implying our visit to him as the number one superior constituency was irrelevant.<\/p>\n
Our questions are that, are our promises going to vain or are we not seen as members of the NDC Any longer after contributing our immeasurable quota in getting the party into power? We are highly disappointed about these issues and feel like bringing it to the notice of the general public.<\/p>\n
We therefore call on the vice president, HE John Mahama, the Tamale South Constituency MP and Minister for Communication, Hon. Haruna Iddrisu and other party executives in the region to honor the promises made within the period of one week or we will resort to the denouncement of our membership in the NDC since it is only a fool who does not change his mind.<\/p>\n
God bless Ghana, the leaders of this country, political leaders, religious leaders and any other individual who contributes in diverse ways to the growth of this country. To everybody present here, we say may the good lord richly bless you all.<\/p>\n
