ABOUT 12 serving ministers may return to the Federal Executive Council (FEC), when it is reconstituted after<\/p>\n

the inauguration of President Goodluck Jonathan next month, if indications from the presidency are anything to go by.<\/p>\n

It was gathered that while the president is contemplating appointing fresh “brilliant and dynamic” hands into his cabinet, he is also interested in re-hiring some old ministers who have been seen to have achieved successes in their current assignments.<\/p>\n

Information on the new cabinet is still scanty but some of the names being circulated as those that may be returned include the Minister of Finance, Olusegun Aganga; Diezani Allison-Madueke, his counterpart in Petroleum Resources; Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Godsday Orubebe; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Odein Ajumogobia; Nuhu Wya, who is the Minister of State for Power and Emeka Wogu, Minister of Labour and Interior.<\/p>\n

Others are Caleb Olubolade, Minister of State FCT; Humphrey Abba, Minister of Police Affairs; John Odey, Minister of Environment; Bala Mohammed, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT); Josephine Anenih, Minister of Women Affairs and Sanusi Daggash, Minister of Works.<\/p>\n

A credible presidency source revealed in Abuja, on Monday, that Jonathan was conscious of the need to speedily deliver on the electoral promises to Nigerians and wanted able hands who would facilitate that in all sectors of the economy.<\/p>\n

The source revealed that he was likely to consider new appointees, irrespective of party affiliation and even technocrats home and abroad not identified with any political party.<\/p>\n

President Jonathan, as well as his senior aides and government officials, is currently on a seven-day retreat at Obudu Cattle Ranch in Cross River State, where he is expected to work on the shape of his new administration.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
