A non-governmental organisation, known as the Wazobia Democratic Concern, WDC, has called on President Goodluck Jonathan to use the new mandate given to him by Nigerians to better their living conditions.<\/p>\n

The group in a statement by Prince Omotunde-Adenikinju, National President, said, \u201cPresident Jonathan should use his new mandate to improve the lot of the ordinary Nigerians. This is what Nigerians want in the next four years. We expect to see visible and practical improvement on the lives of ordinary Nigerians on the street, because Nigerians came out en-masse<\/em> to vote for him and it is a clear indication of the trust that they have in him.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have noted that this is the beginning of a new dawn in this country and those who have been voted for should know that they have more responsibility now, because the electorate expects more from them.\u201d<\/p>\n

The group also congratulated the President, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and Nigerians for the successful conduct of credible elections.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe in Wazobia Democratic Concern felicitate and rejoice with the President Dr.Goodluck Jonathan and the Vice president Alhaji Namadi Sambo for their landslide victory in the presidential election, they demonstrated that election could be won without rigging or using the power of incumbency to frustrate the people and their co-contestants or manipulating it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cLet us added\u00a0 that although there were some hiccups during the elections, there would be opportunities to improve on the mistakes as the country continues on the path of democracy as we also congratulate the INEC Chairman Prof.Attahiru Jega for conducting a credible elections and the using of NYSC members and Vice chancellors, this is a new dimension that eventually work out.<\/p>\n

\u201cOf course, there are minor hiccups here and there; that is expected. It is not that there are no areas of improvement. There are areas where we can still improve, but I think in the overall, we must accept that we held a very free, fair and credible election,\u201d in our country this time around.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
