\nAshaiman, May 1, GNA – Mr Seji Saji, 36, Project Manager of the African Centre for Energy Policy, on Saturday won the Ashaiman Constituency primary for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with 244 votes.<\/p>\n
The two other contestants in the race, Mr Thomas Adongo and Mr Emmanuel Kingsley Teye, former Member of Parliament for Ashaiman, had 115 and 94 votes respectively.<\/p>\n
Mr Saji thanked the delegates for the confidence reposed in him, and reminded members and supporters of their collective responsibility to wrest power from the National Democratic Congress come December 2012.<\/p>\n
Mr Adongo and Mr Teye promised their unflinching support for the elected parliamentary candidate to ensure victory for the party.<\/p>\n

Kofi Brako wins Tema East NPP Parliamentary Primaries<\/p>\n
Tema, May 1, GNA – Mr Kofi Brako, a 55-year old businessman, has been elected the parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tema East Constituency.<\/p>\n
Out of a total of 575 votes, Mr Brako had 294, while his closest contender, the incumbent MP, Mr Ashong Narh, polled 108 votes at the party’s nationwide primaries which were held on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Other contenders Mr Ramseyer Agyeman-Prempeh, an educationist and Mr Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover, a labour consultant, had 91 and 79 votes respectively.<\/p>\n
Declaring the results, Mr Gabriel Manu, Tema Metropolitan Electoral Officer, said three of the 575 votes cast were rejected. A total of 609 delegates were expected to vote.<\/p>\n
Addressing delegates and party supporters after the election, Mr Brako thanked the party executives, delegates and the contestants for their tolerance that led to the peaceful voting process.<\/p>\n
Mr Brako gave the assurance that he would work in unity with all members to retain the seat and draw more support for the NPP.<\/p>\n
He promised to provide young dynamic visionary and excellent leadership in the constituency to ensure that the party retained the seat in 2012.<\/p>\n
The three other candidates also thanked delegates, congratulated the winner, and promised to support his vision.<\/p>\n
The election, which was supposed to start at 0900 hours started at 1135 hours due to delays in accrediting delegates.<\/p>\n

GREL Human Resource Manager wins NPP primary in Shama Constituency<\/p>\n
Shama (W\/R), May 1, GNA \u2014 A 55-year-old Joseph Cantamanto Garbral, a Human Resource Manager of the Ghana Rubber Estates (GREL), on Saturday won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primary in the Shama Constituency for the 2012 parliamentary elections.<\/p>\n
He polled 174 of the valid votes cast to defeat three other contestants in the race.<\/p>\n
Mr Ato Panford polled 145 votes to place second, Lawyer Samuel Erickson Abakah of Sekyi-Hughes Chambers polled 70 votes to place third while the former NPP Member of Parliament for Shama and a former Deputy Minister of Education, Madam Angelina Baiden Amissah, had 37 votes to place fourth.<\/p>\n
Mr Garbral pledged to bring all the contestants on board to form a formidable campaign team to wrest the seat from the National Democratic Congress.<\/p>\n
