Ilorin \u2013 Gov. Bukola Saraki of Kwara has appealed to aggrieved members of the PDP who left in the wake of the primaries to return to the fold.<\/p>\n

In a\u00a0statement\u00a0signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Masud Adebimpe in Ilorin, Saturday, the governor\u00a0commended them for the overwhelming support given to the PDP in the just-concluded general elections.<\/p>\n

The governor declared that the party\u2019s victory at the polls was for all\u00a0 and that there was,\u201d no victor and no vanquished.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u00a0He solicited for the people\u2019s support for the in-coming administration of the Governor-elect, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed, to enable him to succeed in office.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact that we were able to record these remarkable results despite the very serious challenges that our party faced in the build up to the primaries, shows how firmly grounded our party is, and how overwhelming our support base is.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor this, credit must be given to our great leader, Dr Olusola Saraki, the Waziri of Ilorin whose enduring political legacy has enabled us to build a party that has come of age.\u201d<\/p>\n

He praised the Waziri for handing over to them a political structure which assisted his administration to accomplish all he was able to achieve in the last eight years.<\/p>\n

Saraki observed that the Waziri\u2019s \u201cyears of sacrifice and unrelenting commitment to the welfare of the people of the state, as well as his strength of character\u201d, played a prominent role in his administration\u2019s success story.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe thanked traditional rulers and security agencies, lNEC, election observers and stakeholders for their roles during the elections.(NAN)<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
