Wayne Rooney believes it would be ‘absolutely fantastic’ if Manchester United can beat Arsenal and Chelsea to clinch the Premier League title.<\/p>\n

United hold a three-point lead over Chelsea heading into Sunday’s game with Arsenal, but know back-to-back victories at Emirates Stadium and at home to the reigning champions will secure a record-breaking 19th league crown.<\/span><\/p>\n

Rooney has been a key figure in recent weeks as United close on the title after suffering an indifferent first half to the season, and also scored in the UEFA Champions League semi-final win at Schalke in midweek.<\/span><\/p>\n

He is aware the Red Devils can not take a place in the European final for granted and is also focused on overcoming their domestic rivals over the course of the next week.<\/span><\/p>\n

“They are difficult games against two top teams. The league has been crazy all season but we’ve got our consistency now.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Rooney is also enjoying his current position in the United side as the link man between midfield and in-form striker Javier Hernandez.<\/span><\/p>\n

The England international added: “I feel I can influence the game more from there.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I believe it is my natural position and I am happy with the way I am playing. The manager has got me playing just behind Chicharito and it’s working well – he has been fantastic this season.<\/span><\/p>\n

“But it’s not a new role for me. It’s the position I had in junior football and my early days at Everton.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Until now, it’s a position I have never really had a run in at United. It’s a position I enjoy and I still get opportunities to score. It’s sort of backing up Chicharito and helping in midfield.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
