A reality television show about a group of shallow, tangerine-tanned twentysomethings in Essex might not, originally, have sounded like a guaranteed hit \u2013 but over the past few months, The Only Way Is Essex has become essential viewing for a million devotees.<\/p>\n

Now, Channel 4 is hoping to repeat the ITV2 show\u2019s success with its own more upmarket version, following the exploits of a group of gilded socialites who inhabit one of London\u2019s most exclusive neighbourhoods.<\/p>\n

The show, Made In Chelsea \u2013 which has already been nicknamed The Sloaney Way Is Chelsea \u2013 will focus on a band of privately educated, hedonistic young men and women whose lives involve a seemingly endless jaunt around London\u2019s most exclusive bars, restaurants and health clubs.<\/p>\n

Here, we introduce you to the gang who were made in Chelsea . . .<\/p>\n

These well-bred wannabes wouldn\u2019t be caught dead hanging out in the Sugar Hut in Brentwood \u2013 the in-place for the stars of \u2018Essex\u2019 \u2013 enjoying Nanny Pat\u2019s now-legendary sausage plait or having fresh acrylic nail extensions applied at the local salon.<\/p>\n

Instead, they can be found quaffing champagne at Raffles on the King\u2019s Road or Public, the nightclub owned by Prince William\u2019s friend Guy Pelly. And that\u2019s only when they are not partying in Cannes or skiing in Verbier.<\/p>\n

Among the characters featured are diamond heir and polo player Francis Boulle, who was once linked to Harry Potter star Emma Watson, and party girl Alexandra \u2018Binky\u2019 Felstead.<\/p>\n

Others in their clique include wannabe pop star Caggie Dunlop and Old Etonian Spencer Matthews.<\/p>\n

The series begins on May 9 on Channel 4\u2019s sister station E4. According to a Channel 4 spokesman, it is about \u2018the real-life rivalries and relationships that set tongues wagging and phones beeping behind closed doors in some of London\u2019s most exclusive postcodes.<\/p>\n

\u2018They\u2019re immaculately dressed, fiercely ambitious and party hard \u2013 but beyond the posh accents, fast cars and glamorous holidays, life isn\u2019t all champagne and canapes.\u2019<\/p>\n

Classless rivalry? The Chelsea gang wouldn’t be caught dead in TOWIE’s regular haunt, the Sugar Hut in Brentwood. Instead you’ll find them quaffing champaign on Kings Road or in the nightclub Public, owned by Prince William’s friend, Guy Pelly<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
