\u00a0\u00a0The Action Congress of Nigeria, Akwa Ibom State Chapter has congratulated Governor Godswill Akpabio on his resounding victory at the just concluded governorship elections and urged other political parties to deepen democracy by accepting the outcome of the elections.<\/p>\n

In a solidarity message to Chief Akpabio, yesterday at Government House, Uyo, and signed by the state Chairman, Chief Aniekan Akpan,\u00a0 the party said her members chose to accept the result of the governorship election in Akwa Ibom State as representing the wishes of the people freely and fairly expressed in the election of April 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cI advise all members of our party\/candidates, as democrats, to accept the result of the 2011 elections which has been globally adjudged as the freest and fairest in the history of our country and in the interest of the unity, progress and peaceful co-existence of our state and nation\u201d,Chief Akpan said<\/p>\n

Responding, Governor Godswill Akpabio described the solidarity visit as a humble moment in the history of democracy in Nigeria as opponents came and congratulated the winner without carrying arms to kill, destroy property and reject results of election.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
