Blackburn coach, Steve Kean has declared that striker, Yakubu Aiyegbeni will return to his best and shame his critics.<\/p>\n

Yakubu who has an impressive scoring record in the Premiership had struggled with his form since the 2010 World Cup where he made a world famous goof in front of goal during a group match against South Korea.<\/p>\n

But this season he appears to have found his verve and Kean stated that Yakubu\u2019s reputation as a goal scorer is getting back again.<\/p>\n

This season, Yakubu who has scored 102 goals from 224 premier league matches, has five goals to his credit from seven matches and this has sparked interest from Eagles\u2019 coach Stephen Keshi.<\/p>\n

\u201c Yakubu has got better. He has got sharper, fitter and I think he is looking better than when he first came to Blackburn. I think he is disappointed he hasn\u2019t got another four or five goals because he has had other chances,\u201dsaid Kean.<\/p>\n

Yakubu was declared surplus to requirement by Everton in the summer, after a loan spell at Leicester City.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t think it was a gamble signing Yakubu,\u201d said Kean. \u201cYou look at his Premiership record. His Premiership starts to goal ratio is very, very high<\/p>\n

\u201cI think sometimes, like with any player, maybe he was at a club for a bit too long and needed a fresh start. We have given him that environment and since the day he has come in he has been a breath of fresh air.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis reputation is going back up again and it should be. All strikers get their value and reputation by scoring. He is the first to take his hat off to the others who have provided the chances.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
