The Spurs boss bemoaned the decision-making process after officiating errors cost his side the game and potentially a UEFA Champions League spot.<\/span><\/p>\n

Redknapp insisted that the decision by the referee’s assistant Mike Cairns to allow Chelsea an equaliser changed the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

With the experienced manager able to see the error via video evidence, Redknapp added his name to the growing list of advocates for technology in the game.<\/span><\/p>\n

“You’ve got to look at the two goals. The first one wasn’t over the line and the second one I felt was offside. Going in at half-time that changed the game,” he told Sky Sports<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The linesman has made a mistake and an honest mistake. Listen, it’s the most difficult thing in the world to see from where he was.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Technology has got to come in. That took seconds for you to see it. It takes five second to say yes it’s a goal, no it’s not a goal. A fair decision, the game moves on. It’s no goal.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It is a guessing game basically and he’s had an honest guess and he’s guessed wrong. It’s not a dishonest guess, he’s done what he felt was the right decision.”

“That’s got to happen I don’t see why we are messing around after all these years and we haven’t got technology in the game, it’s amazing.<\/span><\/p>\n

“And the second goal he was just slightly offside when he scored. That’s just how it goes.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Ramifications<\/span><\/h4>\n

The result now leaves Spurs four points off fourth place and Manchester City having played a game more than their closest rivals.<\/span><\/p>\n

While Redknapp was quick to praise his side and speak out in support of his goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, he was adamant his side deserved better on the day.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We came and we played ever so well first half. The goal gave them a massive lift. Two wrong decisions have cost us dearly today,” he added.<\/span><\/p>\n

“How can you see from there, 18-yard line, looking at the goal-line from where his position was? It’s impossible to see whether that ball has crossed the line.<\/span><\/p>\n

“If you’re not sure you can’t give it.<\/span><\/p>\n
