{"id":410971,"date":"2011-04-30T18:50:29","date_gmt":"2011-04-30T18:50:29","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/04\/30\/ssnit-pensioners-want-allowances-increased\/"},"modified":"2011-04-30T18:50:29","modified_gmt":"2011-04-30T18:50:29","slug":"ssnit-pensioners-want-allowances-increased","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/04\/30\/ssnit-pensioners-want-allowances-increased\/","title":{"rendered":"SSNIT Pensioners Want Allowances Increased"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><div>The Ajumako-Enyan-Essiam District Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) Pensioners\u2019 Association, have expressed concern about low monthly allowance being paid to them by SSNIT.<\/p>\n<p>At a monthly meeting held on Tuesday April 26 to elect new<br \/>executives, members appealed to officials at the SSNIT headquarters to<br \/>consider putting their allowance at par with their counterparts under<br \/>the Ghana Government Pensioners Association \u2013 CAP-30.<br \/>They asked various regional executives in the country to do<br \/>something about the plight of SSINT pensioners.<\/p>\n<p>Mr James L. Tawiah, Central Regional Treasurer of the<br \/>Association, who was at meeting, advised members of the Association to<br \/>remain clam, and gave the assurance them that their grievances would<br \/>be channelled to the headquarters of SSNIT for consideration.<br \/>He swore into office the newly elected executives for a four-year<br \/>term of office.<\/p>\n<p>They were Anthony K. Yankson, Chairman; Mr Arthur Baiden,<br \/>Vice-Chairman and Mr James A. Baidoo, who was retained unopposed as<br \/>Secretary.<br \/>The Assistant Secretary position went to Mr Alfred Oppong, Mr<br \/>Nooruden I.
