This is the lot of Ghana\u00b9s<br \/>Komla Dumor.<br \/>The BBC is telecasting live the union between the Duke of Cambridge, Prince<br \/>William, and his wife, Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge. The two<br \/>have been pronounced man and wife at Westminster Abbey, and are now heading<br \/>to Buckingham Palace where there will be a buffet reception for 650 guests.<br \/>The man at the center of the BBC live reportage on the Royal nuptial is<br \/>Komla Dumor; Ghana\u00b9s own.<br \/>From a humble beginning on the streets of Accra, Komla\u00b9s glittering career<br \/>did not come on a silver platter. His said the initial stages at JOY FM<br \/>were not without challenges.<br \/>\u00b3People know my story but they only know a small part of the story. They<br \/>don\u00b9t know the beginnings and how humble those beginnings are [such as]<br \/>walking the streets of Adabraka-Odawna without any sense of plan or<br \/>guidance,\u00b2 Komla once said in an interview.<br \/>\u00b3There was a time myself and Bernard Gbagbey fell in a gutter at Achimota<br \/>and when I got out of the gutter I said to myself, what kind of job is this.<br \/>And at the moment we fell into the gutter, some of the Volta girls (Volta<br \/>Hall, University of Ghana) were passing by and were laughing, I mean they<br \/>were really, really laughing.\u00b2<\/p>\n<p>He holds a BSc in Sociology and Psychology (University of Ghana) and an MA<br \/>in Public Administration (Harvard University).<\/p>\n<p>Initially, Komla Dumor studied medicine for four years but opted out to the<br \/>disappointment of his professor who told him:&#8221;You&#8217;re not supposed to fail,<br \/>man!
