{"id":408090,"date":"2011-04-29T15:26:02","date_gmt":"2011-04-29T15:26:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/04\/29\/20-year-old-woman-arrested-for-alleged-murder\/"},"modified":"2011-04-29T15:26:02","modified_gmt":"2011-04-29T15:26:02","slug":"20-year-old-woman-arrested-for-alleged-murder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/04\/29\/20-year-old-woman-arrested-for-alleged-murder\/","title":{"rendered":"20-Year-Old Woman Arrested for Alleged Murder"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"38.1287044877\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.observer.gm\/enews\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Daily Observer<\/a> (Banjul)<\/p>\n<p>Omar Wally<\/p>\n<p>29 April 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>One Sirra Jammeh, a 20-year-old woman has been arrested for the alleged murder of one Salieu Jobe, a 17-year-old boy.<\/p>\n<p>Narrating the incident to this reporter on Tuesday at Manjikunda Police Station, ASP Yerrow Mballow, the Police public relations officer, said the incident happened on 24th April 2011 between 19:00-20:00 hours, when the accused, a resident of Kotu Quarry had a problem with the deceased&#8217;s mother.<\/p>\n<p>According to the Police PRO, on Monday 25th April 2011, the deceased, Salieu Jobe, together with a 14-year-old boy (Name withheld) went to the accused person&#8217;s compound to ask her why she had the problem with their mother.<\/p>\n<p>Further narrating the unfortunate incident, the Police PRO said: &#8220;During which they fought and the 14-year-old boy hit the accused with a stick, the accused then ran to one of the rooms in her compound and picked a knife and the deceased also took a cutlass from one of the boys with whom the deceased was going to fetch palm leaves for their masquerade locally known as hunting.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>ASP Mballow explained that the deceased went into the compound of the accused and wanted to cut her with the cutlass; unfortunately the accused stabbed the deceased on his chest with a knife. &#8220;He felt down and was rushed to the Royal Victoria Teaching Hospital (RVTH) in Banjul were on arrival he was pronounced dead,&#8221; ASP Mballow added.<\/p>\n<p>He disclosed that the 14-year-old boy was also arrested and is currently helping police officers in their investigation.
