West Brom<\/a> at The Hawthorns.<\/span><\/p>\nMcAllister has reminded his players of the eight-year reign that Villa have held over all other teams in the region.<\/span><\/p>\nThe 46-year-old former player, who is in temporary charge of Villa till the end of the season whilst manager Gerard Houllier recovers from a health scare, is confident his team can push higher up the league.<\/span><\/p>\nMcAllister said: “I’m not being disrespectful to the Midlands clubs but people look at Villa and they are the biggest Midlands club.<\/span><\/p>\n“That’s a fact. There is big support, a wonderful stadium, wonderful training facilities here.<\/span><\/p>\n“The club that has finished the highest in the Premier League in recent years is there to be shot at.<\/span><\/p>\n“But that’s the responsibility of playing for this club.<\/span><\/p>\n“We’ve got to produce. We know the other Midlands clubs are going to raise their game against Villa. It’s only natural.”<\/span><\/p>\nMcAllister praised his side, who are enjoying an undefeated run of four Premier League games, including victories over West Ham and Newcastle, which has all but ensured their top flight status.<\/span><\/p>\nHe said: “Three or four games ago there was real pressure and we had to be realistic.<\/span><\/p>\n“We were talking about surviving in this league.<\/span><\/p>\n“But the feeling now, and the confidence and the mood, means we are tending to look the other way.<\/span><\/p>\n“We are intending to catch the teams above us and finish as high as we can.<\/span><\/p>\n“When you can get back to back wins, you can make significant moves up the table.<\/span><\/p>\n“We’ve got West Brom who are looking to finish as high as they can and then Wigan who are looking to get themselves away from the bottom.<\/span><\/p>\n“They’ve got plenty to play for but we have as well. There are games we can win and we can move up the table.”<\/span><\/p>\nMcAllister was also quick to praise Baggies boss Roy Hodgson, who since taking over at The Hawthorns in February has steered the Albion clear of the drop zone.<\/span><\/p>\nHe added: “West Brom have had a great run under Roy, pulled themselves out of it and all credit to the players.<\/span><\/p>\n“I think Tony Mowbray and then Roberto Di Matteo established the West Brom style of play.<\/span><\/p>\n“Roy has come in and maybe made them a little bit more solid when they don’t have the ball.<\/span><\/p>\n“When they’ve got the ball, they’ve got good players. They have got talented players.<\/span><\/p>\n“The big improvement has been when they don’t have the ball.
