{"id":407477,"date":"2011-04-29T12:07:49","date_gmt":"2011-04-29T12:07:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/04\/29\/bank-supports-training-of-young-swimmers\/"},"modified":"2011-04-29T12:07:49","modified_gmt":"2011-04-29T12:07:49","slug":"bank-supports-training-of-young-swimmers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/04\/29\/bank-supports-training-of-young-swimmers\/","title":{"rendered":"Bank Supports Training of Young Swimmers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"35.9897610922\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.economist.com.na\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/39c6c1c6namecon180.jpg.jpg\" alt=\"Namibia Economist (Windhoek)\" title=\"Visit Namibia Economist (Windhoek)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>29 April 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>First National Bank (FNB) and Dolphin Swimming Club recently signed a N$25 000 funding agreement to support the club&#8217;s efforts to establish a swimming training course offered to children from the age of 2 to10 years over a two-day period.<\/p>\n<p>The agreement will benefit approximately 280 children in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the signing ceremony Dixon Norval, FNB&#8217;s head of strategic marketing and communications, said the bank&#8217;s commitment to sport has a far-reaching influence in soccer, netball, cycling, table tennis and swimming.<\/p>\n<p>He said that sport is not only healthy but is also something that can be enjoyed by a whole community as spectators and supporters gather around to encourage their favourite team or individual.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Swimming is probably one of the best sport sorts there are, as it is fun, places no strains on body parts and strengthens muscles, improves endurance and much more,&#8221; Norval explained.<\/p>\n<p>On his part, Janis Stergiadis, coach of Dolphin Swimming Club, thanked FNB, who he said, willingly contributed money for the development of swimming in the country.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;To us, teaching these kids to swim is as important as teaching kids to read and write.
