Berbatov: Premier League’s top scorer with 21 goals<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Dimitar Berbatov will return to Manchester United’s squad to face Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The Bulgarian has missed United’s last three games after picking up a groin strain in their defeat to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final on April 16.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Berbatov is fit again, he’s trained all week” said manager Sir Alex Ferguson. “He had a slight groin strain, missed the last few games, but he’s available.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Ferguson will also benefit from the return of midfielder Darren Fletcher in time for Wednesday’s return meeting with Schalke in the UEFA Champions League semi-final.<\/span><\/p>\n

The Scot has been sidelined through a virus, which has caused his weight to dip, but he proved his fitness in a reserve game on Thursday.<\/p>\n

“Darren came through last night fine,” said Ferguson. “He is progressing and it is possible we could include him on Wednesday for another 45 minutes.<\/p>\n

“The good thing is that he is back. He has put his weight back on. He has worked hard in the gym.<\/p>\n

“I can make a few changes for Sunday and I can make a few changes for Wednesday also, with the strong squad that I’ve got. “

“He is a great addition to the squad at this time of year, we’ve missed him for a couple of months.”<\/p>\n

Changes<\/h4>\n

Ferguson admits he is now spoilt for choice ahead of both games and, with a two-goal cushion over Schalke and a six-point lead in the league, he could chop and change in order to keep his team fresh for the season run-in.<\/p>\n

“I can make a few changes for Sunday and I can make a few changes for Wednesday also, with the strong squad that I’ve got.<\/p>\n

“We don’t do a great deal of training now, it’s a recovery (period) to get the injured back in and keep the form.”<\/p>\n

Third-placed Arsenal need a win on Sunday to keep alive their faint hopes of overhauling United’s nine-point lead over them from the remaining four games.<\/p>\n

After the Emirates showdown United host second-place Chelsea in the league, but Ferguson will be content if they have their destiny in their own hands come the final day of the season.<\/p>\n

“Two months ago, everyone was looking at these matches as league deciders – and they probably are,” he said.<\/p>\n

“But we are going into them in good form so hopefully we can keep that going. Teams are going to drop points on the run-in, including Chelsea.<\/p>\n

“Hopefully we get to a point where we need to win our last home game – against Blackpool – to win the league. I would take that.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
