Drama unfolded at the forecourt of the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi recently when a soccer fan broke down in uncontrollable tears after setting eyes on GFA President Kwesi Nyantakyi.

The man, believed to be a staunch fan of the GFA president, could not contain his happiness when he saw his idol for the first time. He therefore shed tears, openly showing his love for Lawyer Nyantakyi.
The GFA president and his entourage of high powered delegation had just finished paying homage to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II when the incident happened.

The Nyantakyi fan, who had heard of the GFA president’s visit to the Manhyia Palace, came to the place and waited patiently as the GFA boss interacted with Otumfuo. After the meeting, Mr. Nyantakyi and his wife were about to get into their car when the soccer fan approached them.

Shouting, ‘Lawyer Nyantakyi today I have seen you’, he broke down in tears, drawing a sizeable crowd to the scene. Lawyer Nyantakyi, who looked surprised about the soccer fan’s behavior, tried consoling him to no avail. The soccer fan cried and cried for about 10 minutes until he was finally persuaded by Mr. Nyantakyi to stop.
