Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has told Andy Carroll that any abuse he receives from Newcastle United fans will be a compliment to his quality.<\/p>\n

The young forward is currently fighting to regain his fitness in time to play against his former club, having made a \u00a335 million move to Merseyside in the winter transfer window.<\/p>\n

And the Scot insists that an adverse reception from the travelling band of supporters would mean that they considered him an important part of the club prior to his departure.<\/p>\n

“They will react in whatever way they want and it is a compliment in a strange way, if you do get abuse, because it means you must have been important to them,” Dalglish said, according to The Mirror.<\/p>\n

“I think the boy is expecting something, but it won\u2019t take away from what he has done for their football club and it won\u2019t take away what the football club meant to Andy. I don\u2019t know what they will do on Sunday but if, as a player, you don\u2019t get abuse off your old supporters then they can\u2019t have been too disappointed you left.<\/p>\n

“I\u2019m sure when Newcastle signed Alan Shearer they didn\u2019t give too much consideration to Blackburn Rovers fans, but that\u2019s football. What goes around comes around.”<\/p>\n

But there is a chance that the 22-year-old may not be able to feature against his former employers, but the manager is looking at the big picture.<\/p>\n

“We\u2019ve been delighted with the way he\u2019s gone about his rehabilitation and his performances in the games. Unfortunately after scoring the two goals against Manchester City he picked up an injury so we just have to wait and see if he is going to play on Sunday.<\/p>\n

“If he\u2019s not fit then he will be fit for the next game. He\u2019s got a bit of mileage left to go in this season yet.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
