Asmara \u2014 Gedem Construction Company implemented various construction and infrastructure projects in different parts of the country over the past 20 years, stated Mr. Mebrahtu Mael, general manager of the Company.<\/p>\n

He told ERINA that the Company has been engaging itself in the construction of bridges, airports, foam-concrete residential complexes, construction and renovation of jetties, as well as construction of road networks and the putting in place of service-rendering institutions, among others.<\/p>\n

Noting the paramount significance of the projects implemented in improving the socio-economic wellbeing of nationals, Mr. Mebrahtu explained that the Company has not only been equipped with sophisticated technological know-how but is also in position to construct any kind of bridge thanks to the valuable experience acquired in the process.<\/p>\n

Some of its road projects that have been implemented and are in the process of implementation include the Gahtelai-Wadi Labka, Barentu-Tessenei, Massawa-Assab and Massawa-Emberemi-Wekiro-Karora roads, as well as Gedem Cement Factory- Naval Force. The Company also constructed the 120 meter high major bridges of Gash and Tokombia, in addition to a number of small and middle-scale ones.<\/p>\n

Indicating that the necessary machineries would be introduced that would be deployed in the construction of jetties and expansion of ports, Mr. Mebrahtu said that skilled manpower has already been nurtured and that in the near future the Company would get involved in sea waters clearing up tasks, beyond constructing and renovating jetties.<\/p>\n

The Company’s future action plan would focus on the construction of big and small bridges, schools and the putting in place of regional ports, among others, according to reports.<\/p>\n

Gedem Construction Company owns various plants that produce the required materials, including foam-making plant, stone grinding and garage.<\/p>\n
