Dannii Minogue is recovering after being rushed to hospital suffering from appendicitis.<\/p>\n

The X Factor judge, 39, was taken in after suffering crippling stomach pains at the weekend.<\/p>\n

Doctors diagnosed her with an acute appendicitis and rushed her in for emergency surgery.<\/p>\n

In recovery: Dannii Minogue, picture earlier this month, was rushed into hospital last week after suffering acute appendicitis and is now at home recovering from surgery<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

She went under the knife just two hours after arriving at a West London hospital.<\/p>\n

She had spent this week under 24-hour care but is now convalescing at home after being discharged yesterday.<\/p>\n

Appendicitis is caused by an inflammation of the appendix. Although painful, it is a common procedure to have the appendix removed.<\/p>\n

Miss Minogue, who has a nine-month-old baby son called Ethan, is recovering with her long-term partner Kris Smith by her side.<\/p>\n

A spokesman for the petite Australian brunette told the Daily Mail: ‘Dannii was taken into hospital on Saturday with pains in her stomach.<\/p>\n

‘She was diagnosed with acute appendicitis and had an emergency operation to remove her appendix.<\/p>\n

‘She is now convalescing.’<\/p>\n

Miss Minogue is currently in the UK for talks with ITV bosses about her future on the X Factor.<\/p>\n

It comes as rumours circulate about who is set to be on the judging panel of this year’s show.<\/p>\n

The star, who splits her time between her home city of Melbourne in Australia and London, is hoping to return full time this year after having to sit out of the auditions last year whilst heavily pregnant.<\/p>\n

A number of replacements have been suggested. Mel B has apparently revealed that she could be replacing Cheryl Cole, who’s also set to transfer to the U.S. version along with Simon Cowell, while Ozzy Osbourne is in talks to have a role on the show.<\/p>\n
