Ryan: Rewarded for fine form for Accrington<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Accrington Stanley star Jimmy Ryan admits he was honoured to be named in the PFA League Two team of the Year.<\/p>\n

The former Liverpool youngster was rewarded for his fine performances for League Two hopefuls Accrington this season with a place in the PFA XI after being nominated by his fellow players.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ryan has an ever-present for Accrington in League Two this season and his showings are believed to have attracted the interest of clubs higher up the football pyramid.<\/span><\/p>\n

The 22-year-old admits he was shocked to be named in the PFA side with Ryan becoming the first Accrington player to achieve the feat.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I was made up to be named in the PFA team, it is a huge honour for me,” Ryan told skysports.com<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I thought it was a wind-up at first, but it is nice to be voted into the team by your fellow players.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It is an honour for the club as well and I am just focusing on doing my best for the team every time I play.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Ryan has been instrumental in Accrington’s play-off bid and he admits winning promotion would be an amazing achievement for the club.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It has been a hard season and we want to stay in the play-off places,” added Ryan.<\/span><\/p>\n

“We want to finish as high up the table as possible and get in the play-offs.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It will be a tough game against Barnet this weekend as they are in good form and they are fighting for their lives.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“If we can get into the play-offs and then win them to go to League One that would be massive for the club.<\/span><\/p>\n

“It would be brilliant for everyone connected with the club to be playing in League One next season and we will be doing everything to try and realise that dream.”<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
