British actor Alex Pettyfer has called Los Angeles ‘socially disgusting’ and compared acting to being in ‘prison’.<\/p>\n

The Beastly and I Am Number Four star has insisted that he doesn’t care much for fame.<\/p>\n

In an interview with VMAN magazine, he said: ‘I’ve heard I’ve been called a bad boy, or difficult. Maybe that’s because I don’t take any bull****.’<\/p>\n

The 21-year-old, who used to date Glee’s Dianna Agron, went on to refer to Los Angeles a ‘s***hole’ and used a misogynistic expletive to describe those who live in the city.<\/p>\n

Pettyfer said: ‘I wish I had some interesting stories about living in L.A., but mostly I just do my work and then go home. Being an actor is like being in prison.<\/p>\n

‘You go, you serve your time, you try and replicate Johnny Depp’s career and then you move to Paris.’<\/p>\n

He added: ‘I think my Wikipedia is full of bull**** because I actually don’t have anything cool or interesting to be said about me.<\/p>\n

‘I think L.A. is this insidious pool where nearly everyone lives in fear…Geographically it’s fantastic…but socially it’s disgusting.’<\/p>\n

In a rather vulgar revelation, he also announced that he has a tattoo above his crotch that reads ‘Thank You.’<\/p>\n

‘In case I forget to say it,’ he says with a wink.<\/p>\n

Th actor’s split from Agron earlier this year was surrounded by controversy, with sources claiming she was ‘terrified’ of him.<\/p>\n

The 24-year-old actress, who plays Quinn Fabray on the Fox hit series, moved out of the home the two shared in February.<\/p>\n

His rising career has been marred by whispers of bad behaviour too.<\/p>\n

Industry insiders told America’s People magazine in earlier this year that Pettyfer is ‘talented, but he’s just immature and opinionated.’<\/p>\n

‘Alex is not good around big groups of people. He likes to be alone,’ the source added. ‘He’s very isolated and he has a bad temper.’<\/p>\n

There were also reports of extreme tension between the actor and director D.J. Caruso on the set of I Am Number Four last year.<\/p>\n

He allegedly demanded to renegotiate his $250,000 deal when he discovered another actor was making more, and has also been accused of going missing from important marketing meetings for Beastly, according to The Hollywood Reporter.<\/p>\n
