{"id":404317,"date":"2011-04-28T10:08:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-28T10:08:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/04\/28\/nigeria-taiwo-faces-disciplinary-hearing-may-5\/"},"modified":"2011-04-28T10:08:00","modified_gmt":"2011-04-28T10:08:00","slug":"nigeria-taiwo-faces-disciplinary-hearing-may-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/04\/28\/nigeria-taiwo-faces-disciplinary-hearing-may-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Nigeria: Taiwo Faces Disciplinary Hearing May 5"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"37.6975425331\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.independentngonline.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Daily Independent<\/a> (Lagos)<\/p>\n<p>27 April 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Super Eagles defender Taye Taiwo faces a French League (LFP) disciplinary hearing on 5 May for using foul language after a match.<\/p>\n<p>A report on BBC Sports says, Taiwo could be suspended if found guilty, while his team-mate Stephane Mbia of Cameroon has also been summoned to the hearing.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian chanted an anti-Paris St Germain song containing an expletive after their League Cup final win last Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Taiwo scored Marseille&#8217;s goal in their 1-0 defeat of Montpellier at the Stade de France.<\/p>\n<p>After the team were presented with the trophy, he took a microphone and sang, along with fans, a song aimed at arch-rivals PSG.<\/p>\n<p>The Nigerian defender Taiwo said on Sunday that he was sorry for his actions.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I want to apologise for what I have sung at the Stade de France,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;All my team mates told me it was not a good thing to do and that it hurt their feelings.
