It’s elementary, dear reader… Katie Holmes can look beautiful and elegant, despite a horrible run of fashion mishaps and grooming gaffes.<\/p>\n

And when she does it, Tom Cruise’s 32-year-old wife leaves others trailing in her wake, as these shots of her at the Chateau Marmont in LA today prove.<\/p>\n

The luminous working mother was at the historic Hollywood spot to promote the new Spring\/Summer collection she’s been working on with US retailers Ann Taylor.<\/p>\n

\"Beautiful:<\/p>\n

Holmes is the new much lauded face of the New York-based store, and is said to have had a strong influence upon the collection.<\/p>\n

She’s modelling a $98 blouse, and a skirt which will retail at around $120 – both are due to arrive in stores in the Summer, the accessories are also Ann Taylor.<\/p>\n

Style director Kristen Rawson says the clothes range is inspired by the architecture of Mexico and the paintings of Frida Kahlo.<\/p>\n

\"Colour<\/p>\n

Colour me happy: Holmes looks at some of the accessories<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Rawson said: ‘There are creamy separates, soft silks and colour-soaked dresses and tops, as well as a full accessory line.’<\/p>\n

Holmes is undeniably a fabulous advertisement for the store.<\/p>\n

She looks better than she has in a long while, with her last few appearances in the public eye raising eyebrows for her harried appearance or drab clothing.<\/p>\n

Holmes is of course, a hard-working mum, and has been extra busy of late, with daughter Suri’s big birthday fifth birthday the weekend before last .<\/p>\n

The Kennedy’s star threw a tea party at the family’s Beverly Hills Mansion to mark the occasion.<\/p>\n

Suri – who already developed quite expensive taste with $850 Ferragamo bags and $635 designer dresses at her disposal – held court at the head of the table at the outdoor celebration, according to reports.<\/p>\n

She was joined by her siblings Connor, 18, and Isabella, 16, who watched on as she opened gifts.<\/p>\n

Katie revealed her plans for the celebration two weeks earlier, saying: ‘I kind of like to girl it up! This is my favourite day of the year.’<\/p>\n

Despite the recent controversy and poor ratings for her mini-series The Kennedys, Katie is hoping for big screen success later this year with two new films due for release.<\/p>\n

Firstly, she will appear in the cop thriller The Son Of No-One, which also stars Channing Tatum and Al Pacino.<\/p>\n

And Katie has also recently filmed the comedy Jack and Jill – which sees co-star Adam Sandler playing male and female twins.<\/p>\n
