People.com<\/span><\/a> : \u00a0\u00a0<\/span> Minutes after Monday night’s Dancing with the Stars, Karina Smirnoff couldn’t shake the fact that her tiny tumble while performing the paso doble with partner Ralph Macchio likely cost them higher scores from the judges.<\/p>\n

While they earned a respectable 24 out of 30 points, tripping over Macchio’s coat “was disappointing, because it was such an awesome routine and Ralph was doing such an awesome job,” a dejected Smirnoff said backstage. “I think the floor is jinxed.”<\/p>\n

Fellow season 12 partners Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Kirstie Alley agree with Smirnoff. After falling while performing the rumba three weeks ago, veteran pro dancer Chmerkovskiy saw that a pattern was long emerging at the ballroom.<\/p>\n

“That spot where Smirnoff fell is where everybody has fallen,” Chmerkovskiy observed. “This is where Misty (May Treanor) fell, Marie Osmond fainted, we fell, they fell tonight.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
