{"id":398873,"date":"2011-04-26T09:46:32","date_gmt":"2011-04-26T09:46:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/2011\/04\/26\/state-church-should-work-together-says-minister\/"},"modified":"2011-04-26T09:46:32","modified_gmt":"2011-04-26T09:46:32","slug":"state-church-should-work-together-says-minister","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.ghanamma.com\/2011\/04\/26\/state-church-should-work-together-says-minister\/","title":{"rendered":"State, Church Should Work Together, Says Minister"},"content":{"rendered":"<div readability=\"33.1327027802\">\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.times.co.zm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ghanamma.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/04\/ac5c213deszambia180.jpg.jpg\" alt=\"The Times of Zambia (Ndola)\" title=\"Visit The Times of Zambia (Ndola)\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>26 April 2011<\/p>\n<hr class=\"thin clear\" \/>\n<p>Gender and Women in Development Minister Sarah Sayifwanda has advised the Church to involve the Government in all its programmes because the two serve the same constituency.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Sayifwanda said on Saturday evening at a fund-raising dinner for the Solwezi United Church of Zambia (UCZ) that Government leaders were always available for the Church when called upon.<\/p>\n<p>She said it was important for the church to invite Government leaders because the Government attached importance to church programmes.<\/p>\n<p>She said any church programme in Zambia promoted peace and harmony which the people wanted and cherished.<\/p>\n<p>The minister said it was good the UCZ in Solwezi was fund-raising to buy a motor vehicle for the reverend whose work involved covering a distance of about 80 kilometres.<\/p>\n<p>She advised the people to take interest in matters of the Church and the community for them to understand what was happening around them.<\/p>\n<p>Ms Sayifwanda advised the church to encourage people to stick to one partner to avoid the spread of HIV\/AIDS.<\/p>\n<p>North-Western Province Minister Daniel Kalenga said the church and the Government should work together because leadership was from God.<\/p>\n<p>Mr Kalenga said it was important for the church and the Government to speak the same language because they worked for the same people.<\/p>\n<p>UCZ North-Western Presbytery Bishop Sylvia Mukuka said the Church and the Government should draw closer, especially this year when the country was approaching elections.<\/p>\n<p>Bishop Mukuka said both parties needed each other, the first thing was for them to draw closer to God.<\/p>\n<p>She said blessed was a nation whose God was the Lord as it would continue to be blessed.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<fieldset>\n<legend align=\"center\"><strong>More News on allAfrica.com<\/strong><\/legend>\n<\/fieldset>\n<p>AllAfrica &#8211; All the Time<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<\/div>\n<\/p>\n<p>View post:<br \/>\n<a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/allafrica.com\/stories\/201104260437.html\" title=\"State, Church Should Work Together, Says Minister\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">State, Church Should Work Together, Says Minister<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p> 26 April 2011 Gender and Women in Development Minister Sarah Sayifwanda has advised the Church to involve the Government in all its programmes because the two serve the same constituency.
