Edin Dzeko’s first Premier League goal boosted Manchester City’s Champions League qualification hopes and left Blackburn in relegation trouble.<\/strong><\/p>\n

City started brightly, David Silva clattering the post with a volley.<\/p>\n

Chris Samba headed over and Jason Roberts mis-timed a close-range header as Rovers hit back.<\/p>\n

But three minutes after stepping off the bench Dzeko smashed Silva’s squared ball past Paul Robinson to score his first league goal in ten attempts.<\/p>\n

The result leaves City in fourth place in the league, four points clear of fifth-placed Tottenham with five games to play.<\/p>\n

For Blackburn the defeat means the Ewood Park outfit are only one point clear of third-bottom Wigan, with both clubs having four games still to play.<\/p>\n
